Collecting autographed sports memorabilia can be a unique hobby. Football and baseball fans are always looking at collecting such items that will increase their football autograph value and baseball autograph values, respectively. These may turn out to be the most cherished and valuable collectibles.
It is a natural phenomenon that every sports fan wants to know how much his sports autograph is valued at. For a football crazy fan, his football autograph value holds a special place and similarly a baseball fan would like to find out how much his baseball autograph is worth. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to determine. There are a lot of factors that go to decide what is the actual value or price of your autographed possession.
The various auction sites could indicate as to what price the same item you hold is being sold for. A Derek Jeter autographed baseball may sell for about $500 on a known site but the same item may sell for less at a local store or different sellers may quote different prices at different points of time. Such varying price differences can leave you confused. In such a circumstance, factors like condition and authenticity come into picture to while estimating and evaluating the value of the autographs. The same thing holds good for a football autographs as well. An Adrian Peterson signed Duke Football may sell for different rates depending on the events and situation in question.
If your favorite baseball or football player has signed on your baseball or football right in front of you, then it is a genuine autograph and holds more value than the autographed items that you bought in a garage sale or from a store, in which case the authenticity of the signature is difficult to determine. Today, a lot of stores do sell fake memorabilia and it is easy to print fake signatures on collectibles. The football autograph or baseball autograph values also depend on how evident the signatures look. If the signature looks bold and bright, it carries more value as opposed to a signature that is faded and not clear enough to recognize. A football autograph that is confirmed by a reputed company like PSA will sell more than an item which bears no certification. Likewise, baseball autograph values vary depending on who has authenticated them.
Ultimately, what a buyer is willing to pay would be your baseball or football autograph value, irrespective of the condition and the method of authentication.
